I worked on level design and level callouts for Shadow Protocol — one of Mood’s internal projects. The mine level was a collaboration with Rafael, and the cistern level was a close collaboration together with Jeppe: I made the base design, level design and concepts. He brought it to life beautifully in Unreal Engine 5 like a true 3D wizard.
Working in 2D is something I hold close to heart, therefore I really enjoyed making the callouts from a technical standpoint. Being able to adapt and switch the entire style to negative late in the process was challenging and very rewarding - Making it more cohesive altogether. One of my favorite design choices was using water as a guiding element — it added atmosphere while naturally leading players through the level, making exploration feel smooth and intentional.
I love shaping environments with gameplay in mind and teaming up with talented people to create levels that feel both functional and immersive.
